Slightly apples to oranges... I ran a medium sized oil cooler and large remote filter on my ITA CRX/Civic. I never saw any indication of pressure loss with the setup. If I were doing one for the ITR, I'd likely do the same sort of setup... more capacity isn't a bad thing, IMO.

IIRC, I used Teflon tape on the fittings.

On the mocal sandwich plate, which port is feed and which one is return? The reason is because my cooler will be mounted vertical. I want the feed to go in from top so gravity helps with pushing the oil through. I don't want the feed to come in from the bottom port. That's just unnecessary resistance on the oil pump.

I just don't have much room to play with.

Ive used Setrab cooler before on my old turbo R with nice results.

Something like this with a Golden Eagle sandwich adapter and braided lines.

I too have used the setrab cooler, and it has held up great.

Also used mishimotos kit for the S2K (thermostatic) and it performed just fine.

Setrab with Mocal sandwich plate here with out any issues. Home built kit.

Parts and cost:

I bought a couple extra fittings as I wasn't sure of the lay out. I don't think I ended up using the 45s. I did a 90 on the cooler and 90 on the sandwich plate.

Craig - Who may need a bigger one due to shitty texass heat

Hey Erik H Could you repost the pictures. Now that my motor has to come out it would be a ideal time to start this project. Thanks

Nice convenient filter location. Any issues with oil pressure?

That looks like a solid setup Ryan.

I am planning to do my cooler setup some time this summer and will post it up

Where did you get that bumper beam? Is that just a cut stock beam?

Craig - Who has clearance issues with the cooler and current beam.

Been wanting to do this as I hate sliding under my car to change the filter.

Cut OEM beam Craig. 90+ degree temps this weekend and oil temps peaked around 240-245 in a 40 minute race.
Integras rock.

Finished my oil cooler install last weekend. I went with the Mishimoto 10 row cooler (universal kit) due to price and the ability to buy something off the shelf without piecing something together. The only thing I had to do was cut some 90 degree aluminum for mounts and drill some holes in the cross member. I installed a temp sensor in the sandwich plate, so I'll datalog the temps in Hondata whenever this car actually returns to the track.
