Hi, I'm Dan from Mobile, AL and I'm one year and 10K smiles into enjoying my 2nd R. Picked up 01 #612 last October with 53K on it. Pretty awesome find being an all original, one owner with a clean history. I've autocrossed it three times, tried rallyx once and put 101 miles on it at TGPR. Our first new car was 98 #460. I sold it to Kelly Kim in Hawaii in '01 because I had the opportunity to get a new '01 Z06 (which I still have) and couldn't swing two car payments.
I started autocross around '99 in the 98 R and I've been doing it on and off in different cars usually having to drive long distances to get to the good sites. It's been great driving an R again after many years of driver mod.
I've been to two nat'l events. Blytheville in a BS S2000 CR where I finished DFL and Dixie last year where I finished mid-pack in SSM in my Z06. My codriver grabbed the last trophy spot (4th) which made me feel good about the car since it was my first attempt at setting one up.
I got my SCCA TT license in April and I'm looking forward to playing at NOLA with NASA.
I've received a warm welcome from Scott Bell who runs an R there.
Anyway after reading Xian's STX build thread here I decided to join and learn more and hopefully contribute as well.

Thanks it's yellow. I would've attached some pics earlier, but that site and my phone don't play well.

Update time
Thanks to Xian's STX build thread and his support via text, I've been able to make the car faster and easier on tires.

Mods are:
225 Rivals on 15x8s, OTS Koni yellows at full stiff, lowest perch settings, Ingall's adjustable front upper ball joints and Scroth harness. Camber is -2.8 F and -1.8 R. The tires seem to work well at 35 hot. I didn't have much time to TNT due to us nearly hot lapping.
My codriver got FTD raw and pax. I finished 2nd raw and pax.
Only 21 drivers, but my main comp was there in a Civic Si.
He beat me by .4 the last time we played. I put 2.1 secs on him with both courses combined this time. Since the course was essentially the same as last time, it's safe to say the wheels, tires, camber, lowering and stiffer shock settings trimmed about 1.5 secs.

Here's a fairly recent video of my first event in STX:

I've got a funny story about the plate. They sent me one for a motorcycle first. I started to just use it, but decided to call and get it corrected. Well then I ended up getting two R FTW plates. So now I have an extra one that looks really cool as garage art

Thanks, guys!

I found a pic of the bike plate. I wanted to keep it, but the lady that made the mistake sent someone to my house to pick it up.

The rear bar showed up today after a 22 day wait. I went with the .095 wall. I know it's twice as stiff as stock, but I'm not sure if that's with the endlinks in or out. Anybody know?

Not to be pedantic but... those are the sway bar arms.

FWIW, for anyone keeping track of changes with ASR's rear bar, since last year they altered the lock collars (used to be plain steel, now "ASR" logo and aluminum) and they changed the arms from silver to that pimp gold look. The arms used to have, IIRC, 4 adjustment holes but now have the "infinitely" adjustable slots. I'm not sure that I'm sold on the design completely as you'll need to make damn sure the bolts are sufficiently tight or risk running into them slipping on you.

PS
I'm sitting here coveting that bar...

While you've got the bar in pieces, would you mind measuring the arms? Looking for distance from the center of the mounting hole to the stiffest and softest setting. I can re-run the calc's and make sure that the #'s are accurate.
