Please, PLEASE take a few moments to read through the above document

particularly the safety requirements and driver responsibility/conduct sections. Doing so will allow you to ensure that you are well-prepared for the event and will make it that much easier to have a fantastic time. Ignoring this, you may find yourself upset. We really don't want anyone to have to sit out, lose track time, or go home, but if the rules are broken that is what will happen.

This document and thread will make sure everyone shows up to the event with their vehicle and themselves ready to hit the track and have a safe, fun (and fast) learning experience. As Chris said above, if you have any questions about any of this stuff such as;

"What belts or roll bar are OK?" or "How do I know if my helmet is of a valid age?"

contact one of us or feel free to post about it here. We're happy to answer any questions and encourage discussions on the how and why of any topic related to the event rules and safety. Thank you for being a part of ITR Expo and I look forward to seeing everyone out there on track at Gingerman!

Rules say an SA2005 helmet is still ok, which is what I have. Can someone verify this so I know if I should buy a new SA2010/SA2015 before it's too late?

SA2005 is OK for this year. It's a similar situation to the delayed SA2010 stuff and allowed SA2000 for an extra couple years. I believe SCCA and others are allowed SA2005 still too.

Hi Guys, I have a question about belts. Your rule is:

"Seat Requirements
Fixed back (non-reclining) seat / race bucket
5 or 6 point harness
4 point harnesses are NOT allowed
Roll bar or roll cage
Stock / Reclining Seat
OEM seat belts must be used in their factory configuration
4 point harnesses are NOT allowed
5 or 6 point harnesses are not allowed with stock / reclining seats
All seats must be securely fastened to the structure of the car."

So my question is, I have a rollbar, do you still think a stock reclining seat should run a factory 3 point belt? This if for my passenger seat. The drivers is a fixed seat with 5 point harness attached to the bar. I have an extra 5 point that I have used at other events. I want to follow your rules but want to be as safe as possible. Thank you!

Seats and safety must be similar for driver and passenger. You won't be able to run a fixed back seat next to a stock or reclining seat. This was very common in years past among many groups but most do not allow it anymore.

Options:
1) If you're an Advanced driver or instructor, you could just remove the passenger seat.
2) add a fixed back seat + harness to passenger side
3) remove rollbar and driver fixed seat and install stock seat + belts.

"equal protection for both passengers" is the rule. So, the options Joe listed are accurate.

We would not allow you to take a passenger in your current configuration.
