Was at Hmotors yesterday, they said the car apparently sold for around $50k, and that it was legit with actual mileage. At least that's the word on the street. Too bad it didn't go to BaT though, then it'd be more verified and on the record.

Hmmmm.... kinda sucks if it was sold private. I mean... Great for the new owner. But sucks for the community. All it would get from us here is drools and pic porn. LOL. Would be great to have the sale information on record for a comparison and scale of relative market value at this time.

In for details I have a feeling will never be shared.

Hmotors? Wrong post. This is a private seller and still for sale. Have someone flying in Wed to look at it for $50k. I'd rather it go to a museum but a private owner contacted me first.

I'll give out the badge number if it doesn't sell next week.

There is no reason to hide the badge number. The badge does not correlate to the VIN number in any way, there is zero theft risk. The ask is purely for the registry project.

Example:
98-1040 - Stock, 6,000 miles, sold by original owner on 12/30/16

98-1040

If the car is in Orlando like the original poster, then it probably has that true mileage and lived in a garage. It seemed like more ITR's/ Integras got stolen in Florida than even California.

Would love to see pics.

and tbh 6k miles is amazing.... But rubber does not to good sitting for that long in one position. Belts, bushings, seals, etc. Idk how I would even go about inspecting the car since it would be nerve racking to drive thinking if you hit 7k rpms something is going to pop

Assuming it was started and run for a bit every now and then then hopefully engine related seals and gaskets etc are good. External stuff like rubber bushings and joints though, no idea how those fair if sitting for years.

Exactly... where was this listed to have a guy hop on a plane to come see a car with just a cell phone pic of a cluster. He won't give a badge number or anything else. I'm sure he has seen BAT auctions and that's what peaked his interest as to what the cars worth. So put it up on bring a trailer. You will have your museum collectors, private car collectors, and average buyers with bank all competitively bidding on this car and could easily exceed your wildest dreams. Not to mention you can easily put a reserve on the auction just incase it flops (which it won't). I'm sure everyone would take this car much more seriously to see pics and a confirmed sale rather than a urban legend or myth. If this is real and does exists and is sold next week to a (buyer) I can only hope he will share the car with the rest of the community and confirm its existence with pics and badge #'s.

Honestly, your posts are pretty accusatory man, PD bought a PY with less miles than this one, I saw it in person, everyone at Expo 14 did, and yet, it was never for sale on BAT, it was never for sale on here, there are a handful of these uber low mileage, collector grade cars, they are not owned by young people, and were never really driven, don't worry about these cars, unless you're looking to buy one yourself, they're above your paygrade. I know we all would like more info, but frankly, it's above most of our paygrades at this point in the game.

Hey man I never said it was impossible for a car with low miles to exist. I know they do. And I can assure you I'm not the only skeptic on the particular car because of the ways is being portrayed. I just happen to be the one vocalizing it. I would hope it's real as I own 2 other low mile original R's. And Yes I would probably be a registered bidder on this car if it were up on BAT as would many serious buyers. (Although The cluster numbers not lining up still concerns me)....With the current market on the rise he would have everything to gain by listing it up for the market to see. I'm sorry man it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense but whatever. To each their own. I would nothing more to be proven wrong with a confirmed sale. It will change the market from the bottom to the top!

In defense of the seller, a BaT sale may or may not yield a higher selling price, but that comes with a larger headache too. With a private sale, it can be easier and allows more control of the future home, if that is desired. Some people do not care where they go, only the cash. I've seen both scenarios often in the last few years with various car purchases.

Also, for those upset that this car may not have been used much and are upset, it's a big world. You can have both pristine low mileage examples along with well-used ones in great condition.

...

Yes, there are low mileage examples hidden out there. Peter's PY, the 97 on eBay from almost 2 years ago, etc.

PD's PY mileage is lower than the miles I drove to and from Expo 14!

I think $50k is a fair price for the car. Yes...I know no one has seen photos. I do worry that it would bring more on BAT but this guy already bought tickets to fly out to look at it so whatever. In 5-10 years I'm sure it'll be worth $60k but neither I or the owner want to hold onto it that long.

Sold today privately. I won't disclose how much, badge or to who. If they want to I'm fine with it.
